The Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and Istanbul MP of the DEM Party, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was hospitalized due to a heart condition, had dined at a restaurant in Beyoğlu before falling ill. The owner of that restaurant, Sebahattin Kat, stated, "We chatted while eating, but his mood was a bit subdued. He went up to the restroom on the upper floor, and he had some difficulty coming down."
TBMM Vice President and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was hospitalized due to heart disease, underwent a difficult 12-hour surgery and was placed under treatment in intensive care. It has been revealed that Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder went alone to a restaurant in Beyoğlu and had a meal before experiencing a heart attack. The owner of that restaurant, who is also a film producer, Sebahattin Kat, shared the events that took place between him and Önder.
"HE ATE HIS MEAL BUT WAS LETHARGIC"
Sebahattin Kat stated that Sırrı Süreyya Önder came to the restaurant in the afternoon, saying, "I was sitting at the cash register when I saw Sırrı brother come in. He went to the counter and liked the dishes on display. He asked for the collard greens roll and wanted the casserole dish that he loved very much; he was sitting at this table. I sat next to him, we chatted a bit, and we talked about my film-related projects.
HAD TROUBLE DESCENDING FROM THE MERVİDEN
He was a bit lethargic, looking at the messages on his phone. He was smiling, and the conversation was great, then he went up to the restroom on the upper floor, and he had a bit of trouble coming down. His mindset and mood were a bit lethargic, then our staff came and wanted to take a photo with him. After that, he paid his bill. He left a tip for the staff. He generally used to come here before; it was a coincidence that I was here that day, and we met. I send my best wishes to his family. I hope he recovers soon, and we are waiting for him to have a meal here again," he said.
