The U.S. President made statements alongside Prince Salman in the Oval Office. Donald Trump expressed his pleasure in hosting Prince Salman at the White House and conveyed his thanks for Saudi Arabia's investment plans in the U.S.
"WE WILL INCREASE INVESTMENTS TO 1 TRILLION DOLLARS"
Mohammed bin Salman stated that they would increase their investment in the U.S. to 1 trillion dollars. Donald Trump announced that they had reached a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and revealed that Riyadh would procure F-35 fighter jets.
"WE WANT PEACE FOR ISRAELIS AND PALESTINIANS"
The U.S. President also brought up the Abraham Accords and told Salman, "I believe you have good feelings about the Abraham Accords."
In response, Prince Salman stated, "Yes, we want peace for Israelis and Palestinians."
Salman further commented, "We want to be part of the Abraham Accords, but we also want a clear path for a two-state solution."
The U.S. President, in his statement regarding Syria, mentioned that President Ahmed Shara is a tough person and noted that sanctions against Syria were lifted at the request of President Erdoğan and Saudi Arabia.
WHAT HAPPENED?
U.S. President Donald Trump had announced that they were ready to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Trump stated, "I plan to do this. They are great allies. Look at the situation with Iran, look at what we are doing to eliminate their nuclear capabilities. Yes, I can say that we will do this. (To the Saudis) We will sell them the F-35s."
The U.S. President had previously indicated that they could sell F-35s to Riyadh and that they were evaluating this issue.
Reports in the American media indicated that there were some challenges in this process, particularly noting that Israel was not in favor of such a sale.
