A female teacher in a school in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli appeared before a judge on charges of sexually abusing her 14-year-old female student. The public prosecutor requested that the defendant be sentenced to a total of up to 21 years in prison for the crimes of "repeated sexual abuse of a child" and "sexual harassment." The music teacher A.G. at Gölcük Girls' Imam Hatip High School is facing a demand for up to 21 years in prison for allegedly sexually abusing his 14-year-old female student B.Ş.
According to a report in Özgün Kocaeli newspaper; the incident occurred three years ago at Kocaeli Gölcük Girls' Imam Hatip High School... Following the allegation that B.Ş., who was 14 years old at the time, was subjected to sexual abuse in a chain-like manner by her music teacher A.G., the school administration filed a criminal complaint. Subsequently, an investigation was initiated by the Gölcük Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
RELEASED
The teacher A.G., whose statement was taken as part of the investigation, was released by the court under judicial control conditions. The case was then started to be heard at the Kocaeli 4th Heavy Criminal Court. In the fourth hearing of the case, the defendant A.G., who is not in custody, made a defense in the presence of the victim's parents and the attorneys of the parties.
"DIVORCE, I WANT TO LIVE WITH YOU"
According to the news in Özgün Kocaeli, the music teacher A.G., who does not accept the allegations, stated, "What is said is completely fabricated. B.Ş. was a very emotional child. She would hug me every time she saw me; I saw this situation as a teacher-student relationship. After a while, B.Ş. started saying things like, 'I like your body. Divorce, I want to live with you.' My only mistake was not telling this situation to the guidance counselor. I do not accept the allegations," he defended.
DEMAND FOR 21 YEARS IN PRISON
The public prosecutor stated in his opinion on the merits that, based on the evidence in the file, the defendant had sexual contact with the victim for sexual purposes and harassed her. The prosecutor requested that A.G. be punished with imprisonment of 10 to 18 years for the crime of "sexual abuse of a child in a chain-like manner" and 6 months to 3 years for the crime of "sexual harassment."
HEARING ADJOURNED
The court panel adjourned the hearing to a later date, giving the attorneys of the parties time to prepare their defenses against the opinion. The judicial process regarding the incident is ongoing.
