A DIAGNOSIS COULD NOT BE MADE FOR THE 16-YEAR-OLD
According to the information obtained, E.K. (16), who lives in Bandırma, applied to Bandırma Training and Research Hospital with complaints of groin pain. Allegedly, during the initial intervention in the emergency room, the young patient was only diagnosed with "gas pressure" and was advised to have an enema. E.K., whose complaints continued, returned to the hospital with his family the next day, but this time only blood and urine tests were performed, and a testicular examination was not conducted. The young man was sent home again with a diagnosis of "infection." On the third day, after the pain intensified, he returned to the hospital.
HE LOST ONE OF HIS TESTICLES
This time, after an ultrasound and physical examination, E.K. was diagnosed with "testicular torsion." The young patient was urgently taken into surgery, and it was reported that one of his testicles had decayed and had to be removed. It was claimed that the doctor who performed the surgery stated, "If intervention had been made on the first day, the testicle could have been saved."
