A woman and a man, found to have engaged in sexual intercourse inside the mosque, were taken into custody. The duo, brought before the court, made a defense saying 'We did it for fantasy,' leaving everyone speechless.
Kocaeli was shaken by an unbelievable "sexual intercourse" scandal in a historic mosque in the city. The immoral act, which took place in the holy place and froze the blood of those who heard about it, came to light thanks to the vigilance of the muezzin on duty and security camera recordings.
MUEZZIN HEARD SOUNDS, THOUGHT IT WAS A THIEF
The nauseating incident occurred in the morning hours. The muezzin, who came to the historic mosque to prepare for the morning prayer and recite the call to prayer, became suspicious upon hearing strange sounds coming from inside. Initially thinking a thief had entered the mosque, the attendant opened the building's security camera system to review the recordings to be sure.
CAMERA RECORDINGS CAUSED SHOCK
According to a report by Selda Hatun Tan from Özgür Kocaeli; the muezzin, watching the cameras second by second, experienced the shock of his life on the screens he had been looking at under suspicion of theft. Detecting that a woman and a man were having sexual intercourse inside the mosque in the footage, the muezzin immediately reported the situation to police teams.
Acting swiftly upon the report, police teams identified the suspects' descriptions and identities based on the security camera recordings. The identified male and female suspects were caught red-handed in a short time during a coordinated operation and taken into custody.
THEIR DEFENSES WERE APPALLING: FOR A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE
After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, and their statements to the prosecutor and court were as shocking as the incident itself. The pair, who disrespected the holy place, confessed in their statements that they carried out this disgusting act for "fantasy" and "to have a different experience."
THEY WERE RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
The suspects, whose brazen defenses were appalling, were released by the court they were brought before under judicial control. It was learned that the legal process initiated regarding the incident continues.
