A 3-year-old child, who was playing in the garden of his grandfather's house in the Palandöken district of Erzurum, fell into an irrigation canal passing in front of the house and was swept away by the current for about 1.5 kilometers. The child, whose heart stopped, was revived by medical teams and taken to the hospital.

FELL INTO IRRIGATION CANAL
The incident occurred around 4:30 PM in the Palandöken district. According to claims, Yağız Ali Ç., who had come with his family to his grandfather's detached house in the Hüseyin Avni Ulaş neighborhood, fell into an irrigation canal passing in front of the house while playing in the garden. The child, swept away by the current, quickly disappeared from sight. Upon notification by relatives who noticed the situation, AFAD, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the area.
DRAGGED APPROXIMATELY 1.5 KILOMETERS
As a result of search efforts carried out by relatives and fire crews, Yağız Ali Ç. was found approximately 1.5 kilometers from the point where he fell. The child, whose heart was determined to have stopped, received CPR from health teams at the scene. After the intervention, Yağız Ali Ç. was revived and taken by ambulance to Erzurum City Hospital. It was learned that Yağız Ali Ç., who was admitted to the intensive care unit, remains in critical condition.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
