In one of Turkey's most comprehensive fraud cases in recent years, the "high-yield fund" trial has reached a verdict. Seçil Erzan, a former bank manager accused of defrauding 41 people, including famous names such as Fatih Terim, Arda Turan, Fernando Muslera, and Emre Belözoğlu, requested release and house arrest in tears before the court's decision was announced. However, the court rejected this request and sentenced Erzan to 102 years in prison. Erzan's final words in court left a significant impact on the hearing.

TEARS IN THE COURTROOM

In the "high-yield secret fund" trial held in Istanbul, the court took the final words of defendant Seçil Erzan. Before the verdict was announced, Erzan, who requested house arrest, cried out, "Will I never see my mother again? If I were under house arrest, I wouldn't escape. If I wanted to escape, I would have done so long ago. I request my release; I beg you to act justly."

In her defense, Erzan claimed that she had fallen into a "spiral" and asserted that she had no intention of deceiving anyone.

102 YEARS IN PRISON FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFRAUDING 41 PEOPLE

The court sentenced Seçil Erzan to a total of 102 years in prison for allegedly defrauding 41 people with the promise of a high-yield fund.

Former DenizBank executives Hakan Ateş and Mehmet Aydoğdu, who were also tried in the case, were acquitted. The court ruled that there was no evidence of criminal activity against the executives.

LEFT IN TEARS

After the announcement of the verdict, Seçil Erzan, who appeared to struggle to stand, could not hold back her tears for a long time. She continued to cry as she was taken out of the courtroom.
