Zal, who made her proclamation through a video shared on social media, quoted from Surah Ash-Shu'ara: "Indeed, I am a trustworthy messenger sent by the Lord of the worlds. Fear Allah and obey me. In return, I do not ask you for any reward. My reward is with the Lord of the worlds. Fear Allah and obey me. Peace be upon those who follow guidance." It was also noteworthy that Zal referred to herself as "the messenger of Allah."

She emphasized that the harsh criticisms from society did not discourage her and expressed her intention to continue defending her claim of prophethood.

Before declaring her prophethood, Eylul Ecem Zal had published a video insulting the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, which drew reactions. Zal had said about Atatürk, "Those who have works like Mustafa Kemal Atatürk will be cast into hell along with their buildings."
