Sarıyer's head coach Servet Çetin made striking statements about Fenerbahçe player Skriniar. Servet Çetin stated that the Slovak player is not as good as he is exaggerated to be and named three players he likes and considers better than Skriniar.
TFF 1. Lig team Sarıyer's head coach Servet Çetin made striking statements regarding the rivalry between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, as well as the yellow-navy blue team's Slovak defender Milan Skriniar.
''THE RIVALRY IS BETWEEN TWO TEAMS''
Stating that Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have distanced themselves from other teams, Servet Çetin said, ''The players they have added in terms of cost and the quality players they have transferred have widened the gap with other teams. Here, the rivalry is between the two. When this gap widens, to be honest, it is not enjoyable. I say this because I do this job; when the gap widens, I don't enjoy the matches much. I think it used to be more enjoyable, more competitive, and the rivalry environment was better. We have lost this competitive environment. For several years, the league has been continuing in some way between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. When other teams fall behind, they are getting further away from the job. I think one of the biggest handicaps is the two teams widening the gap.''
"SKRINIAR IS GOOD BUT NOT AS MUCH AS HYPED''
Expressing that Fenerbahçe player Milan Skriniar is not as good as he is exaggerated, Servet Çetin mentioned three better players than the Slovakian, saying, "I can mention Davinson Sanchez, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, and Batagov as better than Skriniar. Everyone expects me to say Skriniar. He is a good player, but not as much as hyped. Skriniar is tough, good in the air, and a one-move player. He doesn't stand out too much because he takes the position correctly. They will say, 'Coach, how were you?'. I used to play against fast players. For example, Sanchez has a second move; when the opponent goes towards him with the ball, he can continue. Let me explain this in detail so that people understand the reason; because Skriniar is a one-move player, when he doesn't get the ball, he gets dribbled past and loses his position. That's why I didn't mention Skriniar.''
