PHONE DISCONNECTED 4 MONTHS AGO
With the instruction of Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız, a special team established within the Missing Persons Bureau determined on July 13, 2024, that Nuriye Dilmaç, who went missing, had fallen victim to a murder. In the investigation conducted by the police, it was found that Nuriye Dilmaç, a mother of 5 children, had separated from her husband some time ago, but her ex-husband Dursun D. had not left her alone.
It was learned that a missing person report had previously been filed for Nuriye Dilmaç by her ex-husband, but when the teams found Dilmaç, she stated, "I don't want to see him." The investigation revealed that Nuriye Dilmaç's phone had been disconnected about 4 months before the last missing report made by her daughter Zilan.
EX-HUSBAND THREATENED "I WILL BURY HER IN THE GARDEN"
The Missing Persons Bureau teams found that Dursun D., Nuriye Dilmaç's ex-husband, who separated after 17 years of marriage due to severe incompatibility, had been constantly trying to reach her during this time, threatening her family living in Ağrı by saying, "I will find her and bury her in the garden of our old house." It was also revealed that Dursun D. had severely beaten Nuriye Dilmaç's brother, who lives in Dalaman, along with 3 other people.
9 SUSPECTS DETAINED
After the police's investigations, simultaneous raids were conducted at addresses identified in Izmir and Istanbul. During the raids, Dursun D. (47) along with his son Eren D., Zakir D., Ercan D., Cevdet D., Emir D., Süreyya K., Hakan B., and Muharrem S. were detained.
MURDER DECIDED BY FAMILY COUNCIL
According to information obtained from the investigation, Dursun D.'s family decided on the death sentence by claiming that Nuriye Dilmaç led an inappropriate life after their divorce. The police teams also uncovered the plan made by Dursun D. for the murder. It was learned that Dursun D. asked for help from a friend for the murder and that he had contacted his ex-wife pretending to be someone else by obtaining another phone number. However, according to allegations, upon requests like "open the camera or send a photo," Dursun D. took his phone to his friend Muharrem S. and asked him to talk to his ex-wife and convince her to meet.
THEY IMPLEMENTED THE MURDER PLAN ON THE MEETING DAY
After a while, it was stated that upon convincing Nuriye Dilmaç to meet, Dursun D. implemented the plan he had prepared. It was learned that Muharrem S., Dursun D., and his son Eren D. got into a car and went to the meeting place, and that before the woman arrived, Dursun D. and Eren D. hid in the trunk of the light commercial vehicle. It was determined that after tricking the woman waiting on the road by saying, "Water spilled on the front seat. You sit in the back," Dursun D. then escaped from the vehicle by saying, "I think the tire is flat."
It was learned that Muharrem S., who gave a statement to the police, said, "They didn't tell me they would kill the woman. They told me to convince her to meet, that they would reconcile when they got together. After I arranged the meeting, I left the vehicle, took a taxi, and left from there. I don't know exactly what happened."
SON CONFESSED THE MURDER AND TOLD ALL THE DETAILS
The only suspect who narrated the murder they committed at the Public Order Branch was the son Eren D., who stated, "I sat in the driver's seat. My father sat next to my mother. They started to argue. When my father hit my mother, she fainted. Then my father strangled her with a rope and killed her."
"WE PUT THE BODY IN A SACK AND BURIED IT IN THE GARDEN"
Eren D., who explained all the details of the murder, said, "We took the body and went to the house in Paşaköy where we used to live. We had relatives there. We took the body out of the vehicle and put it in a sack. Since we are in the excavation business, we found a truck with garden soil. We buried the body in that garden soil. We set out to throw it at the dumping site. I was driving the truck where the body was. My father was following me in a truck loaded with rubble. However, when his vehicle's tire burst on the road, he switched to the vehicle I was in. Together, we went to the İBB Şile, Sahil village, excavation dumping site. There, we emptied the garden soil from the truck. However, when the sack was exposed, my father buried the sack back into the soil."
HE CARRIED HIS DEAD WIFE'S PHONE FOR 4 DAYS
Police teams learned that after the incident, Dursun D. carried his ex-wife's phone with him for 4 days to mislead the police and answered incoming calls, waiting for 10 seconds before hanging up. It was learned that the suspect aimed to keep the police away from him and his family by this method.
HE USED TO GO TO THE PLACE WHERE THEY THREW THE BODY EVERY MONTH AND PRAY
On the other hand, it was learned that Eren D., who confessed to the murder, felt guilty after the incident and said that he went to the place where he threw his mother's body every month to pray.Eren D. stated that he knew the dumping grounds would eventually be turned into green areas, saying, "I was saving 10 million lira to buy that area and have a secret grave made for my mother. That was my goal. Every month, I would go to the place where we buried her and pray."
6 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
While the suspects whose police procedures were completed were referred to the courthouse, former spouse Dursun D., son Eren D., and siblings Zakir D., Ercan D., Cevdet D., and Muharrem S. were arrested. The other 3 suspects were released under judicial control with a travel ban abroad. Meanwhile, it was learned that efforts to find the young woman's body were ongoing without interruption.
