CHP Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan broke his silence with a statement on his social media account following the harassment allegations made against him. Denying the allegations, Yazgan claimed that the incident was a conspiracy against him and announced that he would request the lifting of his parliamentary immunity. Yazgan stated that if he is found guilty, he will resign from his parliamentary seat and leave politics.
CHP Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan made a statement regarding allegations that he harassed a woman in a house in Edirne. Denying the accusations against him, Yazgan claimed the incident was a conspiracy, stating that as soon as he returned to Ankara, he would apply for the lifting of his parliamentary immunity and demand to be tried.

In a statement on his social media account, Yazgan said he was facing a serious attack against himself, his family, and his party. Stating that he could not make a detailed statement because the matter is under a prosecutor's investigation, Yazgan alleged that the incident was "a conspiracy and a treacherously arranged trap."
"I WAS SUBJECTED TO AN ATTACK AND LYNCH ATTEMPT"
Yazgan, who said he was insistently invited to the house where the incident occurred, claimed he was attacked there without discussing any topic. He maintained that before the video recording was taken, he was hit on the head multiple times with a heavy chair and was not given a chance to speak.
Yazgan also stated that he suspected his drink was drugged, announced that he had made the necessary applications regarding the incident, and had filed a criminal complaint against the individuals involved.
The CHP deputy argued that the accusations against him were a "character assassination," saying he would pursue legal proceedings against those he believes are behind the incident.
"LET MY IMMUNITY BE LIFTED, I WANT TO BE TRIED"
Yazgan, who also noted that a disciplinary process has been initiated against him by the CHP, stated that the truth would emerge at the end of both the judicial process and the process to be carried out by his party.
Yazgan also called on Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus, saying he would submit a petition for the lifting of his parliamentary immunity after moving to Ankara.
Yazgan said, "As soon as I go to Ankara, I will write my petition and demand that my immunity be lifted and that I be tried. If I have even one crime, I will resign from my parliamentary seat and leave politics."
