The journalist Didem Arslan Yılmaz, who covered the disappearance of 8-year-old Narin Güran in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, expressed her outrage on the program "Didem Arslan Yılmaz ile Vazgeçme" aired on Show TV. Yılmaz, who was upset about what happened after Narin's lifeless body was found yesterday, said "They silenced the mother."

The lifeless body of little Narin, who had been searched everywhere for days, was found inside a sack thrown into a stream. As the country mourned Narin's death, Didem Arslan Yılmaz made a series of posts. In her first post, she drew attention by saying "The family knew and kept silent. Shame on them." Arslan later shared "Narin's mother, Mrs. Yüksel, trusted us, she only participated in our live broadcast and spoke very strongly. They silenced the mother afterwards, a broadcast ban was imposed. I leave it up to you to decide what would have happened if we had continued the broadcasts."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Narin Güran, who went to a Quran course in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district on August 21, did not return home after the course, so her family searched for her on their own. When they couldn't find her, Narin's father, Arif Güran, reported her missing around 8:00 PM on the same day. As a result, numerous search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and vehicles entering the village.

During the search operations, Narin Güran's brother, E.G. (18), was detained due to bite marks on his arm. After the examination at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute, it was not possible to determine whether the bite marks belonged to Narin, so E.G. was released.

Then Narin's uncle, who is also the muhtar (village head) of the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was detained. Salim Güran, whose DNA samples taken from his car matched the DNA samples from Narin's clothes, was arrested on charges of "intentional homicide" and "deprivation of liberty."

The search teams refocused on previously searched areas, and they conducted a search in the Eğertutmaz Stream, located 2 kilometers away from the neighborhood, where Narin's lifeless body was found on the 19th day. It was determined that Narin was killed and then thrown into the stream inside a sack, which was covered with stones.
