In Ankara, retired sergeant Remzi Büyükköprü shot his wife and two daughters before committing suicide. In the incident, the mother and one daughter lost their lives, while the other daughter, who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital. It was learned that Simge Büyükköprü, who is being treated in intensive care and cannot speak, wrote on a piece of paper that her father was in depression and experiencing financial problems, and that she managed to escape from her father, who had locked her in the room.
A retired sergeant, who was reported to have been in depression in Ankara, shot his wife and two daughters with a pistol before committing suicide with the same weapon. As a result of the attack, one of the daughters and the mother lost their lives, while the condition of the other daughter, who was seriously injured, was reported to be critical.
The incident occurred last night in an apartment in the Hürriyet neighborhood of Sincan district on İrfan Züm Street. According to the information received, retired Sergeant Remzi Büyükköprü (55) shot his wife Deniz Büyükköprü (46) and daughters Simge Büyükköprü (21) and Irmak Nehir Büyükköprü (16) with his service pistol before shooting himself in the head. In the incident, Irmak Nehir, mother Deniz, and father Remzi Büyükköprü died at the scene, while Simge Büyükköprü, who was shot in the chin and managed to escape from the house in a severely injured state, was taken to Ankara City Hospital. After the investigations at the scene, the bodies of the mother, father, and deceased daughter were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy. It was learned that after the procedures here, the mother and daughter would be buried in Eskişehir, while the man who committed suicide would be buried in Kırıkkale.
WROTE ON PAPER: MY DAD WAS IN DEPRESSION
It was learned that Simge Büyükköprü was taken to the intensive care unit after her surgery. Since she was shot in the chin, Simge Büyükköprü could not speak, but it was reported that she wrote on paper in the hospital that her father was in depression, that he had financial problems, and that he had locked her in the room before escaping.

Levent Çolak, the apartment manager who spoke about the incident, said, "We did not expect such a violent incident. One of the girls who was attacked is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. The attacker committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after carrying out the attack. We do not know why he did such a thing. He was not a neighbor we were very close to. We have no information about our neighbor's psychology. Like in every household from time to time, we would hear screams and fighting noises. Since we were outside, we had no opportunity to intervene. They had been living here for 10 years. One of the injured girls managed to escape from the house and sought refuge with a neighbor. Her condition was also critical. She had just come out of surgery and was shot in the chin. The relevant teams were here and carried out their work," he said.
"SHE HAD BLOOD STAINS ON HER"
Neighbor Taner Öcal stated, "I saw the ambulances coming while I was sitting in my house. Other neighbors had reported the incident to the teams. We opened the door to the gendarmerie. I saw the injured girl; she had blood stains on her. She was injured in her mouth. Since she could not speak, she was pointing to her house with her hand. That’s all we know," he said.
