During a billiards tournament with a large prize held in Colombia, the moment of a shooting was captured by live broadcast cameras. Two people lost their lives in the attack, while four others were injured.
Two armed assailants stormed a newly opened billiards hall in Colombia's capital, Bogota, opening fire on the players and spectators present.
One of the attackers, who forcibly entered the venue called "Gran Templo del Billar" (The Great Temple of Billiards) on Saturday night, tried to infiltrate the main billiards hall to identify his target.
In the incident that took place in the Villa de Rosario area near the Venezuela border, the attacker opened fire after waiting for a few minutes, killing two people.
This frightening event was reflected in the tournament footage that was being broadcast live on social media at that moment.
The broadcast recordings show moments when players were peacefully playing, with one about to hit the ball, suddenly interrupted by gunfire, causing everyone to drop to the ground.
Panic-stricken spectators fled together to escape the table as the camera toppled over.
Due to the consecutive gunshots, both spectators and players fled the venue in great fear.
It was announced that the two victims who lost their lives were well-known currency trader Edwin Uribe and the owner of a motorcycle shop, Samir Olarte.
George Quintero, the Secretary of Citizen Security for the Norte de Santander region, stated on his social media account: "Last night, two people lost their lives, and four were injured. We are offering a reward of 50 million Colombian Pesos (approximately 50,000 TL) for information that will help clarify the incident."
Quintero also mentioned, "Many witnesses saw the suspect who first entered the hall. The attacker first killed a person there and, unfortunately, shot several others while fleeing."
According to local media, the four injured individuals were taken to Duarte Medical Center, but no new statements regarding their health status have been made.
Colombian security forces are continuing the investigation, stating that the attack may be linked to a criminal organization operating along the Colombia-Venezuela border.
