The security camera footage from the apartment that Hüseyin S., who was arrested on suspicion of murder in Ankara, entered to kill Umutcan and Melisa Şimşek has been released. In the footage, the suspect is seen entering the apartment wearing a beanie on his head, a mask on his face, sunglasses, and holding a bag.
Two brothers, aged 22 and 16, who were killed by having their throats slit in Sivas, were captured in Ankara as a result of the meticulous follow-up by the Sivas Provincial Police Department.
THE BROTHERS WERE KILLED BY HAVING THEIR THROATS SLIT
The incident occurred in an apartment on 44th Street in Kılavuz Neighborhood at midnight. The brothers, Umutcan (22) and national athlete Melisa Şimşek (16), were found by their mother with their throats slit at home. It was determined that Melisa Şimşek's hands were tied before she was killed. Following the incident, police teams launched a large-scale operation to find the murderer or suspects.
MURDER SUSPECT CAPTURED IN ANKARA
As a result of the careful follow-up conducted by the Sivas Provincial Police Department, the murder suspect Hüseyin S. was captured in Ankara. In a statement made by the Sivas Governorship regarding the incident, it was stated, "The perpetrator of the incident that occurred in Kılavuz Neighborhood, where two brothers lost their lives due to a knife attack, has been apprehended. It has been determined that the incident was carried out by a person named Hüseyin S., who subsequently went to Ankara. As a result of coordinated efforts with the Ankara Provincial Police Department, the murder suspect was captured and taken into custody on the same day. After the necessary procedures, the suspect will be referred to judicial authorities, and the motive for the murder is being investigated from multiple angles."
HE GAVE 500 THOUSAND TL TO THEIR FATHER
It was also determined that the suspect Hüseyin S. was the last person to meet with the father of the murdered children, Uğur Şimşek, who had been missing for 5 years, and that there was a debt-collection issue between them. After Uğur Şimşek went missing, it was revealed that his family mentioned Hüseyin S. in a television program they participated in, and that Hüseyin S., who joined by phone, stated that he had given 500 thousand TL to Uğur Şimşek.
