Sivrihisar Mayor Habil Dökmeci was subjected to a fist attack by an individual named H.A. at the municipal building. During the scuffle, Deputy Mayor Mehmet Taş was injured and taken to the hospital, while the attacker was taken into custody by police. It was revealed that the attacker had previously received a prison sentence for threatening Mayor Dökmeci. The municipality announced that legal proceedings have been initiated against this attack aimed at disrupting the peaceful environment.
In the Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir, Mayor Habil Dökmeci and his team were attacked in their offices. During the physical assault involving punches inside the service building, Deputy Mayor Mehmet Taş was injured. It emerged that the attacker had previously received a prison sentence for threatening Mayor Dökmeci.
ATTACK AFTER MUHTARS' MEETING The incident occurred following a meeting Mayor Habil Dökmeci held with neighborhood heads. As Dökmeci exited the meeting hall, he was subjected to a physical attack by an individual identified as H.A. Deputy Mayor Mehmet Taş, who tried to protect Dökmeci from the assailant's punches, was injured in the ensuing scuffle.
Deputy Mayor Mehmet Taş Upon notification, police teams arriving at the municipal building subdued the attacker H.A. and took him into custody. Injured Deputy Mayor Mehmet Taş was transferred to the hospital after receiving medical intervention.
PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED: EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL RECORD REVEALED It was determined that the attacker H.A. had a past feud with Mayor Habil Dökmeci. It was learned that the suspect had made severe insults and threats against Dökmeci on social media last March, and was sentenced to more than 2 years and 1 month in prison in the subsequent trial.
STATEMENT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY: WE WILL NOT LET THE PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT BE DISRUPTED The Sivrihisar Municipality announced that the legal process is being meticulously followed following the scandalous incident. The official statement from the municipality included the following:
"Violence and threats in public service buildings are unacceptable. The treatment process for our Deputy Mayor Mehmet Taş continues. Both our municipality and Mr. Taş have separately filed criminal complaints against the individual in question. We stand against any attempt to disrupt the peaceful environment in Sivrihisar."
