The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) issued a statement regarding posts claiming that mobilization orders were sent to some citizens, saying, "The 2026 Yıldırım Series mobilization exercises will be conducted in September-October with the participation of a total of 7,686 reserve personnel. An informational message has been sent to the personnel assigned to these exercises."
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) made an official statement regarding posts on social media that some citizens were sent a "mobilization order."
“CARRIED OUT ROUTINELY EVERY YEAR”
The Ministry announced that the messages sent do not indicate an extraordinary situation and are informational messages sent to reserve personnel registered in the system as part of the "Yıldırım Series Mobilization Exercise," which is routinely held every year.
In the statement made to inform the public following the claims on social media, it was reminded that these exercises are carried out regularly every year.
7,686 RESERVE PERSONNEL WILL PARTICIPATE
The Ministry also shared numerical data regarding this year's planning and used the following statements: "Posts are being made on social media claiming that some of our citizens have been sent a mobilization order. Yıldırım Series Mobilization exercises are carried out routinely every year. The 2026 Yıldırım Series Mobilization exercises will be held within September-October with the participation of a total of 7,686 reserve personnel. An informational message was sent on May 15, 2026 to the mobile phones registered in the system of the personnel assigned to these exercises."
