AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik stated that a legal framework must be established for the terrorist organization to lay down arms and that they expect the issue to be brought to Parliament and enacted swiftly. Çelik said, "We believe this issue should be brought to Parliament as soon as possible, evaluated quickly, and enacted into law; this is how we assess it."

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik said, "Now, a legal framework must be established for the terrorist organization to lay down its arms. We believe this issue should come to the Parliament as soon as possible and be evaluated and enacted quickly. We evaluate it this way. Of course, we continue to take these steps with the broadest support of all political parties, both those in and outside Parliament, to achieve the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey and a Terror-Free Region. Many steps have been taken so far, but the current stage is now a new one."

STATEMENTS FROM ÖMER ÇELİK AT THE AK PARTY CAMP

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements to journalists within the scope of the 33rd Consultation and Evaluation Meeting held in Sapanca, Sakarya, with the theme 'Quarter-Century Epic: AK Party.' Reminding that the camp began with the opening speeches of President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Çelik said, "A quarter-century epic is the main title of this camp. Indeed, at every camp, we see our founding friends and those we have walked the path with before, and together with our newly joined young friends, we see how long and valuable a path we have walked. Of course, we have the opportunity to recall all the phases of this quarter-century epic struggle led by the architect of this path, our President and Chairman, who endured its hardships."

"ISRAEL'S AGGRESSION CONTINUES"

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, touching on the discussion of foreign policies at the camp, continued his words as follows: "Of course, there are very important foreign policy issues here. Regarding Iran, after the unjust and unlawful attack on Iran carried out by the United States and Israel, both regional and world peace were put at serious risk. At this point, we see that this peace is again at risk with some ongoing attacks."

Israel's aggression continues. Therefore, the evaluation of regional issues will continue intensively, from energy matters to agriculture, from food security to other topics. Our camp agenda is broad, covering from artificial intelligence to all other fields. The camp continues with a very wide-ranging agenda that falls within the purview of almost all our ministries but also evaluates issues outside that scope."

"THE ISSUE OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION LAYING DOWN ARMS SHOULD COME TO PARLIAMENT"

Emphasizing that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has made comprehensive assessments regarding a 'Terror-Free Turkey' and that this topic was also addressed in closed sessions, Çelik stated the following: "As I expressed in our last press conference, we are now at a new stage. At this point, a legal framework must be established for the terrorist organization to lay down its arms. We believe this issue should come to the Parliament as soon as possible and be evaluated and enacted quickly. We evaluate it this way."

"THE TERROR-FREE TURKEY PROCESS IS NOW AT A NEW STAGE"

"Here, of course, with the broadest support of all political parties, both those in and outside Parliament, we continue to take these steps to achieve the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey and a Terror-Free Region. Many steps have been taken so far, but the stage we have reached is now a new one. With the enactment of this law, a foundation will emerge to ensure the terrorist organization lays down its arms. If the terrorist organization lays down its arms, Turkey will have removed from its agenda the terrorist organization it has been fighting for many years."

When we look at developments in our region, we see that terrorist organizations are used as proxy forces by certain imperialist circles in a wide area from Syria to Iraq. Therefore, it is clearly seen how valuable it is for our goals of a Terror-Free Turkey and a Terror-Free Region to be carried out in an interconnected, intertwined, and inseparable manner."

Drawing attention to the importance of using positive language and a common-sense approach in this new phase passed, Çelik said, "In this new phase we have reached, we invite everyone to support and contribute to this process with a positive language—whether in the form of contributions or criticism—and to bring up any criticisms if they exist, in a healthy manner. This is extremely valuable because these are issues that truly concern all of Turkey and our region. It is necessary to avoid extreme approaches, act with common sense, and use sensible language. We are sometimes asked, 'What do you mean by extreme approach?' Actually, everyone knows what extreme approaches are. Approaching the process with slander and distortion instead of criticism is an extreme approach. Additionally, approaches, agendas, attitudes, and behaviors that would divert the process from its main focus under the guise of 'supporting the process,' or provoke society's sensitivities, are also extreme approaches. With common sense, we hope to bring this process to its conclusion."

"LET CHP SOLVE ITS OWN PROBLEM INTERNALLY"

Ömer Çelik continued his statement as follows: "Today, the CHP Chairman again said something regarding our President's speech today. But the issue is this: even before the recent legal situation emerged, he could not manage CHP; there was a serious management problem in CHP. We expressed that at the time. Now, let them not try to whitewash their own management inadequacies through us. Let the Republican People's Party solve its own problem internally. In the past, we fought with Kılıçdaroğlu in the May 14-28 elections, then we fought with Özgür Özel's administration; before that, we had fought with CHP under Kılıçdaroğlu's management."

Therefore, from our perspective, there is no difference, but let them solve their own issues themselves. Let them not try to whitewash their own inadequacies through us. We will not allow this. This situation is something our esteemed citizens who are devoted to the Republican People's Party do not deserve. To overcome this, experienced politicians in CHP need to find a common-sense path. That is what matters. In the coming period, as our Chairman mentioned today, we see that those who constantly produce polarization are trying to position us as a party to that polarization."

We will not allow this. We have continuously fought with these polarization-producing circles and those who increase tension. We will continue to work and strive in the most inclusive way, especially on these major issues like a Terror-Free Turkey, with the most inclusive and dialogue-oriented approach, avoiding extremes and staying on the main path."
