Fenerbahçe's head coach Domenico Tedesco made statements following the match against TÜMOSAN Konyaspor. Praising Konyaspor's performance in the second half, the Italian coach said, "Even though our opponent today is a mid-table team, they played wonderfully. Even when the score was 3-0, they never gave up. I turned to the bench in the second half and said, 'They are fighting like lions.'"
In the 16th week of the Trendyol Super League, Fenerbahçe defeated TÜMOSAN Konyaspor 4-0 at home, and head coach Domenico Tedesco made statements after the match.
'VERY IMPORTANT FOR CONFIDENCE'
Evaluating the match, Tedesco said, "In the second half, our rhythm dropped a bit. I think we gave the opponent a bit too much space. Still, I think it was good. The season is long and tough. I actually see the drop in tempo in the second half as somewhat normal. If you are talking about perfection, you must play very well in both halves. Today, we dropped a bit in the second half. It was very important for us to maintain the momentum. We won 4-0 in Norway, and today we won 4-0 again. It's very important for the team's confidence. We played very well in the first half. We are happy."
'NICE TO BE FLEXIBLE'
Emphasizing that there can be constant changes in the system they play, the Italian coach stated, "Our system can change depending on what kind of full-backs we play with. Levent prefers to stay back more. But he can also move forward when he wants to, like the assist he made to Talisca in Norway. Archie and Mert Müldür move forward more. Kerem comes inside, Asensio comes inside. Actually, we played this way in my first match against Trabzonspor, but we conceded a lot of counters. I think the team has been gradually taking steps and is ready to play the system we want. Sometimes we play 4-3-3, sometimes 4-2-3-1. It's nice for the team to be flexible."
'THEY FIGHT LIKE LIONS'
Describing the Super League as a very challenging league where every opponent tries to play football, Tedesco said, "Although our opponent today is a mid-table team, they played wonderfully. Even when the score was 3-0, they never gave up. In the second half, I turned to the bench and said, 'They fight like lions.' Our league is at a very high level. I have a lot of respect in this regard."
'DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY AND COME OUT'
Touching on Jhon Duran, who reportedly reacted for being substituted, Tedesco said, "Like everyone, he doesn't want to play and come out. I consider the situation normal. Every player wants to play."
'I'M HAPPY TO HAVE A PLAYER LIKE TALISCA'
Stating that they had a tough away match in the UEFA Europa League, Tedesco mentioned that the 5-hour flight and 1-hour bus journey made the Brann match challenging. Highlighting that his team played very well on the field today after a tiring away match, Tedesco said, "Of course, we had this feeling due to the performance in training. I was happy with the team's performance in yesterday's training. Today we went on the field with a very offensive team. Our starting eleven showed what we wanted to do, and the team executed it clearly. Talisca is a fantastic striker, he has a great left foot. I have asked him to play as an 8, 9, and 10 before. I even asked him to play on the right wing in the Beşiktaş match. He is a complete team player. He works hard, scores goals, and is very positive. I am happy to have a player like Talisca."
'WE ARE EAGER TO PLAY THESE MATCHES'
Finally, Tedesco stated that they will play in the Super Cup matches during the break in the league, saying, "It's hard to schedule time for training due to the Super Cup. We will play against Samsunspor in Adana on January 6. The players have played many matches, and we have a good rhythm. I hope we can maintain this rhythm until the end. We are eager to play these matches. The best thing for a team is to play matches. When you play a lot of matches, there is not much time left for training, but we accept this situation."
