New images related to the counterfeit gold operation, carried out as part of an investigation coordinated by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, were shared with the public.
Evidence of crimes seized during searches at addresses in simultaneous raids across 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş was recorded by cameras.
COUNTERFEIT GOLD AND MOLDS SEIZED
The operation footage showed numerous molds, various production materials, and illegally minted gold coins, believed to have been used in the production of counterfeit ornamental gold that should have been minted by the mint.

71 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Within the scope of the investigation, an operation was conducted in 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş on charges of "counterfeiting currency," "counterfeiting assets equivalent to currency," and "qualified fraud."
71 suspects, including jewelers, workshop owners, bag traders, and mold makers, were detained, while the investigation was reported to be continuing in multiple directions.
CITIZENS' SAVINGS TARGETED
In a statement following the operation, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek noted that citizens' savings were being targeted through counterfeit ornamental gold produced with low purity and insufficient weight, and stated that the fight against such criminal organizations would continue resolutely.
