Two separate construction accidents that occurred on the same day in the Tarsus district of Mersin plunged the business world into mourning. In the unfortunate successive incidents, one of the workers who fell from a height lost his life despite all interventions, while two workers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
CHAOS AT CONSTRUCTION SITE
The first incident occurred at a construction site located on Atatürk Street in the Atatürk Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, T.B. (48) and M.B. (38), who lost their balance while working on scaffolding, fell to the ground from a height of several meters. Upon their colleagues reporting the situation, health teams were quickly dispatched to the area. The two injured workers, who received initial medical intervention at the scene, were taken to Tarsus State Hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment.
TWO PIECES OF SAD NEWS ON THE SAME DAY
The second accident news that shook the district came from a construction site on 2673 Street in the Kırklarsırtı Neighborhood. Abdülkadir Polat, 43, who lost his balance for an undetermined reason while working and fell from a height, was seriously injured.
112 Emergency Health teams, who arrived at the address upon the notice of those around, provided first aid to Polat and transported him to Tarsus State Hospital without delay. However, the seriously injured worker, who was admitted to the emergency room at the hospital, could not be saved despite all the doctors' efforts and lost his life. Police forces launched an investigation into both construction accidents, in which one person lost his life and two people were injured.
