BAGHERI DREW A PORTRAIT OF BARIS MANCO IN THE SAND
58-year-old Iranian sculptor and painter Farajollah Bagheri, who lives in the Alanya district of Antalya, created a giant portrait of the unforgettable Turkish musician Barış Manço on the beach using sand art.
Bagheri, who settled in Alanya years ago from Iran and continues his artistic work here, had previously gained great attention on social media with a portrait of Müslüm Gürses. This time, the artist, who prepared for his beloved Barış Manço, started his drawing in the afternoon and continued until sunset.
Bagheri, who numbered the draft he prepared at home on the sand, said that he worked on the drawing on the sand "like embroidery" with the help of a rake.
HE RECEIVED FULL MARKS FROM THOSE ON THE BEACH
Using the natural texture of the sand as a canvas, the artist carefully drew Barış Manço's characteristic facial features and long hair details. When the work was completed, citizens and tourists walking on the beach admired the giant portrait and took photos with their cell phones.
"ART IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE WHOLE WORLD"
Expressing great happiness from his work, Bagheri conveyed his love for Turkish artists with the following words: "I am an Iranian sculptor and painter. I have been involved in art for 30 years, and I have been living in Alanya for 10 years. Three days ago, I drew a picture of Müslüm Gürses on the beach, and now I have made Barış Manço. I am very happy with this work. We Iranians love Turkish artists very much. From now on, I want to create Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Art is the language of the whole world."
