The countdown has begun for the mandatory installation of cameras in commercial transportation vehicles. Starting from January 1, 2026, those who do not install cameras in taxis, minibuses, buses, and shuttles will face penalties and will not be able to pass vehicle inspections.
The critical date for the camera system, which has been made mandatory for commercial vehicles under the Highway Traffic Regulation, is approaching. As of January 1, 2026, those vehicles such as taxis, minibuses, buses, and service vehicles that do not have cameras will face fines and will not pass vehicle inspections.

According to the regulation change published in the Official Gazette on August 19, 2025, M2 and M3 class vehicles, public transport vehicles owned by municipalities or authorized by municipalities, taxis, and minibuses will be required to be equipped with cameras, tracking systems, image recording devices, and emergency buttons.
CALENDAR DETERMINED
According to the new regulation, the camera requirement will be implemented gradually:
- 2025–2023 model vehicles: January 1, 2026
- 2022–2018 model vehicles: January 1, 2027
- 2017 and earlier models: January 1, 2028
Approximately 2 months later, at the beginning of 2026, it will become mandatory for vehicles engaged in commercial transportation to have cameras installed. Vehicles that do not meet this requirement will not pass vehicle inspections.

The prices of in-vehicle camera systems available in the market start from 2,000 TL. While prices vary according to their features, models with night vision and high resolution can be more expensive.
