"The 16-year-old suspect who wounded a car dealer by shooting him in the leg at a cafeteria in a shopping mall in Sarıyer has been arrested. It was learned that the suspect stated in his testimony, 'They offered me 200-300 thousand lira to shoot with a gun. We were going to finish Barış A.'s job. We were only going to shoot his leg. We had no intention of killing. I kept my distance, then approached him and said, 'Nice tattoos.' I pulled out the gun, fired toward his leg, and walked away.'"
In a cafe at a shopping mall in Sarıyer, car dealer Barış A. was shot in the leg by 16-year-old E.T. It was learned that the attacker stated in his testimony that he was offered 200-300 thousand lira and they only planned to shoot him in the foot. Two suspects were apprehended in connection with the incident, and E.T. was arrested.
The incident occurred on Saturday, June 13, at a cafe in the shopping mall located in Ayazağa District. According to the information obtained, E.T. approached Barış A., who was sitting in the cafe, and spoke with him for a while. E.T., leaving Barış A. after saying "Your tattoos look nice," returned shortly after and fired one shot at Barış A.'s leg with a gun he had on him. The injured person was taken to the hospital after initial first aid by medical teams at the scene. It was learned that Barış A.'s life was not in danger.
SARIYER YUNUS POLICE CAUGHT HIM AFTER A CHASE
İdris Ü. (48), who arrived at the scene by vehicle to pick up E.T. after the attack, began to flee when he saw the police. As a result of a pursuit by motorcycle units attached to the Sarıyer Patrol Teams Directorate, E.T. and İdris Ü. were caught. Searches yielded a gun and numerous bullets. It was learned that İdris Ü. had one prior criminal record with the police. After his procedures at the police station, E.T. was arrested on charges of 'Intentional injury' and 'Violation of the firearms law.'
"WE WERE GOING TO FINISH THE JOB FOR 200-300 THOUSAND LIRA"
It was learned that E.T. stated in his testimony, "On the day of the incident, I was offered 200-300 thousand lira by an unknown number, which currently has no message content, to shoot the victim with a gun. They sent me a location via a messaging app, and I went there to get the gun. I went to get the gun with my friend Yusuf Ç. That day, we were going to finish Barış A.'s job. We were only going to shoot him in the foot. We had no intention of killing. That day we waited, and when he didn't come, we dispersed to our homes. Later, the person who gave me the gun called me again. He gave me the cafe's location. I went to the cafe and waited. After waiting a bit longer, he came and sat down. I identified him from a distance. Then I went up to him and said 'Your tattoos look nice.' Then I took the gun out of my pocket, aimed at his leg, fired one shot, and left the scene."
