Details of the MASAK report prepared as part of the corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and its suspended detained president, Ekrem İmamoğlu, have emerged. According to the report, the transfer of a total of 637,106 Euros to the yacht company owned by İmamoğlu's son, Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu, abroad in 2023 and 2024 was deemed 'suspicious.'
The investigation into the corruption allegations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and its suspended president Ekrem İmamoğlu is ongoing. Details of the 181-page 'Evaluation Report on Money Laundering Crime' prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) on June 4 continue to emerge.
637 THOUSAND 106 EUROS SENT
According to the report, İmamoğlu's son, Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu, transferred a total of 637 thousand 106 Euros to a company named 'Tectum Investment D.O.O.' located in Croatia in 2023 and 2024, and it was stated that this company, based in Croatia, belongs to Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu.
SUSPICIOUS MONEY TRANSFERS ABROAD INCLUDED IN THE REPORT
The report noted that investigations into the source of the amounts involved in Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu's transfers deemed the act of transferring money to his company accounts located abroad as suspicious.
"SENT MONEY IS CRIMINAL INCOME"
Additionally, it was reported that the dates of the money transfers made by Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu to the company 'Tectum Investment D.O.O.' coincided with the amounts he received from his mother Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu and Hasan İmamoğlu, as well as the amounts he himself received. The prepared report also stated that the 637 thousand 106 Euros sent abroad by Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu was considered a minimum criminal income within the scope of the investigation.
