A 17-year-old girl lost her life while cleaning a temple in Malaysia, trapped under a massive wooden beam. The family is seeking justice.

A 17-year-old student in Malaysia died after being crushed by a 1,000-kilogram wooden beam while cleaning a temple with her mother.

The mother, who witnessed the horrifying moments, was in shock, while the young girl, who was severely injured, could not be saved despite all efforts. It is believed that the middle part of the massive wooden pillar, installed in 2022, had rotted. It was reported that the unfortunate girl collapsed under the massive pole just 15 minutes after arriving at the temple for cleaning. According to information provided by the grieving family, the maintenance of the temple was previously handled by the girl's grandfather until he suffered a stroke.

Since that day, the responsibility of the temple has been shared among family members. Local police stated that there was no intent in the incident and that the death was entirely an accident. Nevertheless, authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact causes of the incident. The police reported that they received a notification at 20:35 local time regarding the tragic event that occurred near Tanjong Sepat in Selangor state.

In the statement, it was mentioned, "The young girl had suffered serious injuries to her head. It appears that she came to the temple for cleaning and worship with her family." The grieving father, who stated that his daughter was a successful student, had received scholarships, and had a bright future ahead, wants justice to be served. The father, who said that they serve at the temple every day with his family of five, lamented, "We did nothing wrong; we were there every day to offer our sacrifices; why didn't the gods protect my daughter?" He also accused the company that supplied the wooden beams of negligence and called for a thorough investigation.
