In the Altındağ district of Ankara, a pedestrian overpass collapsed after a truck with an open dump bed hit it. The accident turned into a chain collision, and 3 people were injured.
TRUCK WITH OPEN DUMP BED HITS OVERPASS
The accident occurred around 11:00 AM on Turgut Özal Boulevard in Zübeyde Hanım Neighborhood. The dump bed of a truck heading towards Samsun was left open and struck the pedestrian overpass. The impact caused the overpass to collapse, and a minibus and a car coming from behind hit the truck and the fallen overpass.
3 PEOPLE INJURED
Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The 3 injured individuals were taken to the hospital after initial medical attention at the scene.
TRAFFIC CAME TO A STANDSTILL
Due to the accident, the Samsun direction of Turgut Özal Boulevard was closed to vehicle traffic. Long vehicle queues formed in the area, and after the collapsed overpass and vehicles were removed, traffic was reopened in a controlled manner. Police teams launched an investigation into the accident that caused the overpass to collapse.
