In the incident that caused panic in Kepez, the woman who set her apartment on fire did not open the door despite prolonged persuasion efforts. After the apartment residents reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the address.

Teams arriving at the scene went down to the basement and asked Ç.A. to open the door. However, despite all persuasion efforts, Ç.A. did not open the door. Consequently, firefighter teams broke down the door and entered the apartment. The teams turned off the stove that was left on and extinguished the burning carpet and curtains.
