Legal overtime pay for 6.5 days will be reflected in the June salaries of workers who work on official holidays in May and during Eid al-Adha. Payments under the Labor Law's double wage regulation vary for minimum wage earners and other salary groups. If a minimum wage earner works on these days, they will receive a total of 6,100 TL net overtime pay.

Overtime payments concerning millions of workers during official holidays in May and the Eid al-Adha period will be reflected in June salaries.

DOUBLE DAILY WAGE WILL BE APPLIED FOR OFFICIAL HOLIDAY OVERTIME

According to Labor Law No. 4857, workers who work on official holidays are entitled to an additional daily wage for each day they work. This practice, known as "double daily wage" in the public, covers employees in sectors operating continuously such as production, health, services, security, and retail.

In this context, a total of 6.5 days of additional overtime rights will be created for workers working on May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day, May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and during the Eid al-Adha period.

EID AL-ADHA OVERTIME WILL COUNT AS 4.5 DAYS

This year, during Eid al-Adha, the eve is considered half a day, and the four days of the holiday are considered full official holidays. Thus, a total of 4.5 days of additional overtime pay emerges for workers only during the Eid al-Adha period.

With the addition of the two official holidays in May, the total official holiday overtime reaches 6.5 days.

ADDITIONAL PAYMENT EXCEEDING 6 THOUSAND TL FOR MINIMUM WAGE WORKERS

According to current minimum wage calculations, the daily gross wage is 1,101 TL, and the daily net wage is approximately 935.85 TL.

A minimum wage worker working only during Eid al-Adha will receive an additional payment of approximately 4,950 TL gross, and approximately 4,211 TL net after deductions.

A minimum wage worker working on all official holidays including May 1 and May 19 is expected to receive an additional payment of approximately 7,000 TL gross, and approximately 6,100 TL net after deductions.

PAYMENT AMOUNT VARIES ACCORDING TO SALARY

While the daily net earnings of an employee with a net salary of 40,000 TL are calculated as approximately 1,333 TL, an additional payment of approximately 6,000 TL will be made for the 4.5-day Eid al-Adha overtime, and approximately 8,666 TL for the total 6.5-day official holiday work.

For employees with a net salary of 50,000 TL, the 4.5-day holiday overtime means approximately 7,500 TL, and total official holiday work means approximately 10,833 TL in additional income.

For employees with a net salary of 60,000 TL, the 4.5-day holiday overtime is calculated as an additional payment of approximately 9,000 TL, and the total 6.5-day official holiday work as approximately 13,000 TL.
