THE NAME OF THE REGIONAL AMATEUR LEAGUE HAS CHANGED

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced that the name of the Regional Amateur League (BAL) has been changed to the Professional Transition League (PGL).

DEADLINE FOR REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: AUGUST 7

It was stated that clubs that will take part in the Professional Transition League, the new name of BAL in the 2026-2027 season, must submit the required documents to the federation by August 7. Regarding the participation fee and conditions for clubs joining the league, the following statements were made:

"Clubs must provide 250,000 TL in cash as the league participation fee and 750,000 TL as the league participation guarantee deposit, either in cash or as a bank letter of guarantee. The 250,000 TL paid in cash as the league participation fee will not be refunded to clubs at the end of the season. If the club has any fines imposed by the Amateur Football Disciplinary Committee (AFDK) that must be paid to the TFF, or costs for damages caused by the team or fans to fields or stadiums, etc., these amounts will be deducted from the guarantee deposit before the remainder is refunded to the clubs. The league participation fee and the one-year bank guarantee deposit are non-refundable if the team withdraws or is removed from the league after the fixture draw. Clubs participating in the PGL must submit a document proving that the fields and facilities where they will play their matches and conduct their training have been allocated to them. Clubs that fail to provide this document will not be admitted to the league. In place of any club or clubs not admitted for this reason, the top team or teams from the relevant local league, according to the ranking, will be allowed to join the league provided they meet the criteria specified in the regulations. Whether these teams meet the criteria will be evaluated by the TFF Amateur Affairs Executive Board."

Player eligibility for the Professional Transition League (PGL) is as follows:

  • In PGL matches, footballers born between 01.01.2002 and 31.12.2011 can be listed and play.
  • In PGL matches, only 5 (five) footballers born in 2001 or earlier can be listed and play. Clubs may register more players born in 2001 or earlier in their wider squads.
  • In PGL matches, footballers born on 01.01.2012 or later cannot play.
  • In the 2026-2027 season, foreign national footballers cannot play in the PGL.
