Hacıosmanoğlu stated that an executive serving in the Süper Lig placed a 4,000 TL bet on the opponent's victory while his own team was leading 1-0 and won 16,000 TL, and said that the person in question was among the 301 executives who were not penalized.
A new detail has emerged regarding betting investigations in Turkish football. While Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu announced that a Super Lig administrator had bet on his own team's defeat, he gave striking figures regarding the investigations conducted by the federation.
HE BET ON HIS OWN TEAM TO LOSE
TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu recounted a remarkable incident regarding betting investigations on A Spor. Hacıosmanoğlu stated that an administrator working in the Super Lig placed a bet on the opposing team to win while his team was leading 1-0, and explained that the person made money from this transaction. Noting that the administrator in question was among 301 people who did not receive a penalty, the TFF President said the following: "Among the 301 people, one person placed a bet that the opposing team would win while his own team was leading 1-0. He played in 2024-2025, staked 4,000 TL and received 16,000 TL. He did this as an administrator at a Super Lig club. He did not receive a penalty, but we separated these."
448 ADMINISTRATORS REFERRED, 147 PENALIZED
Evaluating the results of the betting investigations, Hacıosmanoğlu emphasized that people in the football family cannot bet. He also provided detailed information about proceedings against Super Lig and 1st Lig administrators. The TFF President's statement was as follows: "We checked what happened after the Ankara Belediyespor match and were disappointed. Most people say 'This is legal betting and we did not know it was a crime.' Those in the football family cannot bet! Referrals were made according to the regulations. The rules are independent and they decide themselves. There was a 3-month penalty for those who bet on between 1 and 100 matches, but with the reduction it became 45 days. Then it was the administrators' turn. We first referred the Super Lig and 1st Lig. We referred 448 people, and 147 of them were given 45-day penalties. 301 people were not penalized. A 45-day penalty for someone who bet on 100 thousand matches would disturb everyone."
"SERGEN YALÇIN IS THE BIG BROTHER OF ALL OF THEM"
Hacıosmanoğlu stated that Sergen Yalçın's past comments should not affect relations within the national team. "He may have commented on TV, but Sergen Yalçın is the big brother of all of them. His past and career are clear. Everyone will embrace each other. This is the National Team; even if there are conflicts between individuals, everyone will do their duty and service. Serving the National Team even as a kit manager is an honor."
"WE WERE DECLARED ENEMIES OF TRABZONSPOR"
The TFF President also responded to criticism directed at him due to the penalty given to Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan. Defending that he was not in an attitude against Trabzonspor, Hacıosmanoğlu used the following statements: "We were declared enemies of Trabzonspor, as if we deliberately penalized Ertuğrul Doğan... They spread this in the city in such a way that we will be declared enemies of Trabzon... You give texts to fan groups, they shout. No one can question my being a Trabzonspor fan."
