In Diyarbakır, a 16-year-old unlicensed driver hit 17-year-old high school student Kübra Sofioğlu. The young girl passed away at the hospital despite all efforts to save her. Friends of Sofioğlu, who were protesting on the street where the accident occurred, held banners that read, "This is not an accident, it's negligence."
On May 6, in Mahabad Boulevard, located in the central Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır, a 16-year-old driver, allegedly weaving through traffic, hit 17-year-old high school student Kübra Sofioğlu. While Sofioğlu was thrown several meters away, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
YOUNG GIRL DIED IN HOSPITAL
Sofioğlu could not be saved despite all interventions at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital, where she was taken in critical condition.
DRIVER ARRESTED
Sofioğlu's body was buried in the rural Pekmezciler neighborhood of the Dicle district after the autopsy procedures. C.G., who was found to be unlicensed, was taken into custody and arrested.
ACCIDENT LIKE A MURDER CAPTURED ON CAMERA
Meanwhile, security camera footage of the moment of the accident that took Sofioğlu away from life has emerged. It was seen that Sofioğlu was hit and dragged by a speeding SUV while trying to cross the road.
FRIENDS PROTESTED
Kübra Sofioğlu's friends protested on the street where the accident occurred. Banners were displayed with slogans such as 'This is not an accident, it's negligence', 'Justice is not a slogan', and 'Be the voice of Kübra'.
