With the donation of singer Yıldız Tilbe, the second tent city established for Palestinians who lost their homes in the Gaza Strip, which suffered heavy destruction from Israeli attacks, has been opened. The camp includes 80 tents, as well as a mosque, solar panels, an energy control room, a water well, and a kitchen.

Due to Israel's ongoing attacks for more than two years, almost no houses remain standing in Gaza, and according to Palestinian authorities, about 90% of the buildings have been destroyed. In Gaza, with a population of approximately 2.4 million, a large portion of the people are trying to survive in makeshift tents.

One of the most basic needs for Palestinians whose homes have been destroyed in Gaza is a tent to shelter in. Singer Yıldız Tilbe, who has provided aid to Gaza many times, has once again taken the initiative to establish a tent city for those who have lost their homes. The second tent city named after the artist was built in the El-Kerame area of Beit Lahiya, located in northern Gaza.

"MOST BASIC NEEDS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CAMP"

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cibaliya Mayor Mazin al-Najjar stated that the camp was established in an area called "Askalan," which has experienced intense attacks, and expressed that it would benefit the Palestinians there. Al-Najjar emphasized the importance of the camp opening during Ramadan, saying, "We thank Yıldız Tilbe and everyone involved, especially the Mevedde Association, for opening a tent camp in this severely damaged area. It was difficult to survive here, but now it has become a beautiful place against the Gaza coast."

Abdullah Sukkar, Chairman of the Board of the Mevedde Aid and Development Association in Gaza, stated, "Thank God we have succeeded in opening the 2nd Yıldız Tilbe Tent City in the El-Kerame area, the northernmost part of Gaza. This is our second camp; we opened the first one two weeks ago." Sukkar added, "There are 80 tents in the camp, each with its own bathroom. The camp has a mosque, a soup kitchen, a school, and solar energy. Thank God, the privacy of each family is preserved here. Each family has an area of 65 square meters."

Thank God, now there is a school for children to receive education and a mosque for people to worship." Sukkar stated, "With God's permission, the families here will live with dignity and comfort. During Ramadan, meals will be provided at the soup kitchen. After Ramadan, a kitchen will be established to continue serving the people."

THE FIRST "YILDIZ TILBE TENT CITY" OPENED LAST WEEK

The first "Yıldız Tilbe Tent City" opened last week in northern Gaza. Although attacks have decreased since the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, 2025, the humanitarian situation in Gaza has not changed significantly due to Israel's restrictions on aid and equipment entry.
