At his daughter's request, he had a DNA test and learned that he was not her biological father. The famous businessman Alp Göbeklioğlu, who immediately went to court, filed a 30 million lira divorce lawsuit against his wife of 31 years, Aysel Göbeklioğlu.

The divorce process between Alp Göbeklioğlu and Aysel Göbeklioğlu, well-known figures in the business world, has gained a new dimension with a shocking allegation that will go down in Turkish legal and tabloid history. At the insistence of his daughter, born from a 31-year marriage, the famous businessman had a DNA test and, upon learning he was not the biological father, filed a 30 million lira "adultery" lawsuit against his wife.

FIRST FILED FOR DIVORCE, THEN CHANGED HIS MIND

Alp and Aysel Göbeklioğlu tied the knot in 1995, and from this marriage, they had two children, who are now adults. Due to severe incompatibility between the couple, Alp Göbeklioğlu filed for divorce for the first time 7 years ago. However, during this process, the businessman, who experienced health issues and was psychologically worn down, forgave his wife and withdrew the lawsuit. A while later, Aysel Göbeklioğlu filed a new divorce case in court.

THE TRUTH CAME OUT WHEN HIS DAUGHTER DEMANDED A DNA TEST

Meanwhile, the couple's first child, B. Göbeklioğlu, requested her father to take a DNA test. Initially reluctant, Alp Göbeklioğlu eventually agreed to the test due to his daughter's persistent demands. When the test results came out, a family tragedy unfolded; Alp Göbeklioğlu learned that B. Göbeklioğlu, whom he had raised as his own daughter for years, was not his biological child.

"THE REASON FOR MARRIAGE WAS HER CLAIM OF BEING PREGNANT WITH HIS CHILD"

In the lawsuit petition submitted to the Istanbul Family Court by Alp Göbeklioğlu's lawyer, Muammer Aydın, the client's great betrayal and disappointment were conveyed. The petition stated that the client and B. Göbeklioğlu, whom he had considered his daughter for years, were in shock and driven mad by sorrow and confusion after the test result. While emphasizing that Alp Göbeklioğlu's reason for marrying Aysel Göbeklioğlu was her claim at the time of being pregnant with his child, it was also stated that the famous businessman, upon realizing that B. Göbeklioğlu was not his, still declared he would fully support her, whom he had considered his daughter for years.

THE 30 MILLION LIRA 'ADULTERY' LAWSUIT

Lawyer Muammer Aydın alleged that Aysel Göbeklioğlu deceived his client 31 years ago by claiming the baby in her womb was Alp Göbeklioğlu's. Noting in the petition that his client would never have married if he had known this situation, Aydın stated that the marital union was fundamentally shaken due to severely faulty behavior, acts of infidelity, and adultery. Therefore, a total of 30 million lira in compensation—10 million lira for material damages and 20 million lira for moral damages—along with 30,000 lira monthly alimony, was demanded from the defendant.

ALLEGATION: "SHE FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST HER TWO CHILDREN AND SON-IN-LAW"

The petition also included a striking suspicion. The lawyer stated that the mother, Aysel Göbeklioğlu, engaged in actions unbefitting a mother, such as filing a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding her two children and son-in-law, and noted that his client doubted whether the second child was his. On the other hand, if the privately conducted DNA test was deemed insufficient by the court, it was requested to repeat the official paternity test at the Forensic Medicine Institute. The legal process of this 'adultery' and divorce case, which revealed the secret of 31 years, will continue to be heard at the Istanbul Family Court.
