The departure of Haymana Mayor Levent Koç from CHP to join AK Party has reignited discussions over claims made by Melih Gökçek days earlier. Gökçek, who alleged that Koç was "convinced with 400 million lira" by Mansur Yavaş, made a different statement following the mayor's transition to AK Party.

Haymana Mayor Levent Koç, who resigned from CHP, joined the AK Party. While President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the party badge on Koç, former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek's previous statements came back to the agenda.

LEVENT KOÇ JOINED THE AK PARTY

Haymana Mayor Levent Koç, who resigned from CHP, switched to the AK Party ranks. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the party badge on Koç.

Following Koç's joining the AK Party, former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek's posts on social media became a topic of debate again.

"RECEIVED 400 MILLION TL" ALLEGATION

Gökçek claimed that after the banner crisis between Haymana Municipality and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, meetings were held between Levent Koç and Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

In a post on his social media account, Gökçek said, "Mansur is giving 400 million to Haymana Municipality this week. He addressed Mansur in a language he would understand; he got the money from Mansur."

ALLEGATION OF SUPPORT FOR MANSUR YAVAŞ

In the continuation of his post, Gökçek claimed, "Levent Koç agreed to support Mansur in return for the money he received from Mansur. Just saying, perfect timing, squeeze Mansur and take the money."

NEW POST AFTER SWITCHING TO AK PARTY

After Levent Koç joined the AK Party, Gökçek made a new post, saying, "Haymana Mayor Levent Koç switched from CHP to AK Party. With my tweet yesterday, we thwarted Mansur's efforts. This is just the beginning, more things will happen."
