World-famous rapper Travis Scott's event in Istanbul has led to a lawsuit. In the organization where ticket prices reached 50,000 TL, the famous rapper's one-hour delay and only 20 minutes on stage enraged fans. A citizen filed a criminal complaint at the Çağlayan Courthouse against the rapper, who was booed for his masked performance, on charges of "fraud." The organizer company argued that the event was not a classic concert but a special experience night.
The event held by world-famous rap star Travis Scott in Istanbul created a major crisis in the music world and on social media. At the organization, where ticket prices reached up to 50,000 TL, the famous rapper's stay on stage for only 20 minutes without even showing his face was the final straw. A citizen claiming to have been defrauded went to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan and filed a criminal complaint.
STAYED ON STAGE FOR 20 MINUTES, LEFT TO BOOS
Fans of the world-famous rapper were left disappointed after paying huge sums for the event. According to allegations, Travis Scott started the event about an hour late. Emerging on stage with accessories completely covering his face and performing for only 20 minutes, the famous rapper failed to meet expectations. While some of the audience who paid high ticket prices rebelled against the situation, Scott was booed and protested at the end of the night by some participants in the area.
"FRAUD" COMPLAINT AT THE COURTHOUSE
This fiasco moved from the entertainment world to the courthouse corridors. A citizen who attended the event went to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, citing that the organization did not deliver the promised content. It was learned that the citizen filed a criminal complaint against both the artist and the organizing company on charges of "fraud."
ORGANIZER'S DEFENSE: "THIS WAS NOT A CONCERT"
As reactions snowballed, Taylan Özcan, founder of the organizing company TemaCC, made a swift statement. Arguing that the event was misunderstood by the public, Özcan said the organization was never planned as a classic concert format from the beginning.
Claiming that ticket-buying participants were informed of this situation beforehand, Özcan stated:
"This event was not a concert; it was a special experience night in the 'Hosted by Travis Scott' concept. Travis Scott was present at the event area throughout the night, hosted the organization for about 1 hour, and then performed a 20-minute live show. The event is fully compliant with international concepts."
It remains a matter of curiosity how the organizer's defense that "it was not a concert, but a hosting night" will be met in the legal process brought to the courthouse.
