Ceren Bıyıklı, known for her career that spans from the theater stage to television screens, has come into the spotlight due to an incident that occurred in Şişli. The actress, who has been sued for allegedly damaging five vehicles that same night, stated that she experienced a mental breakdown and does not remember what she did. The court requested a medical report to determine her criminal responsibility.
The actress Ceren Bıyıklı, who has been involved in many projects in the theater and television world, came to the forefront with the incident that occurred on the night of February 25, 2024, in Şişli, Istanbul. She was sued for allegedly damaging five vehicles at five different locations that same night. According to a report by Sabah, the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included serious allegations that Ceren Bıyıklı damaged five separate cars. Following the investigation initiated after the incident, a criminal case was opened.
"I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT I DID"
Accepting the allegations, Bıyıklı stated in her defense, "I couldn't sleep at night, I was using medication. I don't remember what I did. I didn't intentionally harm anyone. I couldn't cope with the stress that comes with acting." The actress's lawyer noted that her client had been experiencing a mental breakdown for some time and had been receiving psychiatric treatment for this reason. Hospital reports supporting this situation were also submitted to the court. Additionally, an evaluation was requested from the Forensic Medicine Institution to determine Bıyıklı's criminal responsibility.
VEHICLE OWNERS AFFECTED ARE OPEN TO COMPROMISE
The affected vehicle owners include Bülent Y., Gökçe Zeynep G., Mustafa Hakan P., Senan P., and Yunus Emre B. The victims stated that the damage to the vehicles ranged from 25,000 to 35,000 TL.
Some complainants expressed that they could withdraw their complaints if their damages were compensated. The defendant Bıyıklı indicated that she was open to compromise, stating, "I am ready to pay in installments, as long as we reach an agreement."
CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT AWAITED
The court panel requested a detailed health report from the Samsun Mental Health and Diseases Hospital to determine the actress's criminal responsibility. The judicial control measure applied to Ceren Bıyıklı is still ongoing. The hearing was postponed to a later date for the evaluation of developments in the case file.
