At the auction organized by TİGEM in Veliefendi, a purebred Arabian colt named "Torlak" was sold for 5 million 250 thousand Turkish lira. This price set a record as the highest sale of all time and went down in history.
The Anadolu Agricultural Enterprise, affiliated with the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises, has put 15 purebred elite Arabian racehorses up for auction at the Veliefendi Hippodrome in Istanbul. In the hybrid model auction, 14 horses were sold, while 1 horse did not find a buyer.
THE HORSE NAMED TORLAK SET A RECORD
The horse that fetched the highest price was "Torlak." Sold for 5 million 250 thousand lira, this horse set a record for the highest sale of all time and went down in history. The horse named Torlak was followed by "Hürkal," which was sold for 5 million 100 thousand lira. The horse sold for the lowest price was "Yalnızede," which went for 1 million 300 thousand lira.
45 MILLION LIRA IN REVENUE
A total revenue of 45 million 700 thousand lira was generated from the sales. İsmail Bülbül, Deputy General Manager of TİGEM, stated that they expect to generate approximately 300 million lira from the 2024 horse sales and breeding premiums. Bülbül said, "For us, every success, every achieved goal is a new threshold. This year, we plan to exceed that as well. We have a target of around 400-500 million lira. It is going very well right now."
Emphasizing that they achieved a revenue of 45 million 700 thousand lira in today's auction, Bülbül stated, "We also had a horse sold for 5 million 250 thousand lira. The auction of the Sultansuyu Agricultural Enterprise will also be here in two weeks, and we will have closed the season with that."
