Özdemir Sabancı, a member of the Board of Directors of Sabancı Holding, ToyotaSA General Manager Haluk Görgün, and secretary Ayşe Nilgün Hasefe were assassinated by members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization on January 9, 1996, marking 30 years since the attack. On January 9, 1996, at the Sabancı Center Business Center, Özdemir Sabancı, a member of the Sabancı Holding Board of Directors, Haluk Görgün, the General Manager of ToyotaSA, and secretary Ayşe Nilgün Hasefe were killed by members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization.
According to the indictment prepared regarding the incident and the court decisions during the trial process, Ercan Kartal, the person responsible for the DHKP/C terrorist organization's Bayrampaşa Prison, gave the order for the action to Mustafa Duyar and İsmail Akkol during a visit, while Fehriye Erdal, who started working as a laborer at the company that cleaned the Sabancı Center six months before the attack, later began serving tea on the management floor.
