The Ministry of National Education announced that the applications for intra-city and inter-city transfers for teachers will begin on January 14, 2026. Teachers will be able to apply for transfers due to health, family unity, and other excuses.
TEACHERS' TRANSFER APPLICATIONS BEGIN
According to the statement made by the Ministry, announcements regarding the transfer processes for teachers based on excuses during the 2026 mid-term break have been published. Unlike previous years, the transfer processes will take place in two separate calendar periods: "between district groups within the city" and "between cities."
Teachers working in the Ministry of National Education who have excuses based on family unity, health, personal safety, disability status, and other reasons listed in the "Regulation on Appointment and Transfer of Teachers Affiliated with the Ministry of National Education" will have their applications for transfers between district groups within the city or between cities accepted in accordance with the announcements made.
INTRA-CITY TRANSFER BETWEEN DISTRICT GROUPS
For intra-city transfers between district groups, teachers will notify their excuses with documents during the pre-application phase from January 14 to 19, 2026. Those whose pre-applications are approved will be able to submit their preference applications in the second phase on January 20-22, 2026. Appointments will be made on January 23, 2026. The separation processes for those who have been appointed can be carried out as of January 23, 2026.
Within the scope of the announcement regarding intra-city transfers between district groups, applications for transfers based on equal retirement will not be accepted.
INTER-CITY TRANSFER
For inter-city transfers, teachers will notify their excuses with documents in the first phase from January 14 to 19, 2026. Those whose pre-applications are approved will be able to submit their preference applications in the second phase on January 27-29, 2026. Appointments will be made on January 30, 2026. The separation processes for those who have been appointed can be carried out as of January 30, 2026.
For those who will transfer based on family unity, a requirement of 360 days of insurance coverage will be requested at the requested location. In the second phase, all educational institutions with a norm staff shortage based on fields and potential vacant educational institutions can be preferred.
Transfers will be carried out electronically based on the principle of service points superiority, taking into account the preferred educational institutions.
