It was reported that at least 40 people lost their lives in the attack, which involved dropping a bomb using a powered paraglider on an area where hundreds of people had gathered.
"A TERRIFYING WARNING"
In a statement from the human rights observer Amnesty International, it was expressed that the attack serves as a "terrifying warning" that civilians in Myanmar urgently need protection.

A large part of the town of Chaung U is under the control of volunteer militias established to fight against the military administration following the coup.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The army seized power on February 1, 2021, claiming that there was fraud in the November 8, 2020 elections. Many officials, including the country's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi, were arrested.
The junta administration violently suppressed mass protests, and many civilians lost their lives in anti-coup demonstrations. Since 2021, the country has been plunged into a violent civil war, with the army and armed resistance groups facing off, resulting in thousands of deaths.
