An assassination attempt on Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was thwarted by the measures taken by security forces. Araghchi's advisor, Mohammad Hossein Ranjbaran, stated, "If it weren't for the measures taken by our security forces, perhaps a major conspiracy planned by Israel in Tehran would have been carried out a few days ago."
The advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Mohammad Hossein Ranjbaran, announced that the assassination attempt planned by Israel against Araghchi in Tehran was thwarted by security forces.
In a statement on his social media account, Ranjbaran announced that the assassination attempt against Araghchi had been prevented.
"THE ASSASSINATION THREAT STILL EXISTS"
Ranjbaran noted that after the announcement of Araghchi's trip to Geneva, Switzerland, for nuclear negotiations with the foreign ministers of the UK, France, and Germany, many people reached out to him expressing their concern, asking, "Will the Zionist regime target him?"
In his post, Ranjbaran stated, "Yes, there was such a threat, and it still exists. However, Araghchi sees himself not only as a foreign minister but also as a member of the homeland, and like his beloved Qassem Soleimani, he desires martyrdom."
SECURITY FORCES INTERVENED AT THE LAST MOMENT
Emphasizing that the assassination attempt ended in failure, Ranjbaran said, "If it weren't for the measures taken by our security forces, perhaps a major conspiracy planned by Israel in Tehran would have been executed a few days ago. Thank God this attempt failed. In this inhumane world, let us pray for Araghchi and our other diplomats. May they be successful in defending Iran's rights."
