The background of the U.S. attack on nuclear facilities in Iran has emerged. It has been reported that U.S. President Donald Trump approved the attack on the grounds that Iran was stalling the U.S.; meanwhile, U.S. officials stated that another group of B-2 bombers took off from the U.S. in order to mislead Iranian officials.
It has been suggested that the belief that Iran was "stalling the White House" influenced U.S. President Donald Trump's approval of an attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran. Additionally, U.S. officials stated that another group of B-2 bombers took off from the U.S. to mislead Iranian officials.
While U.S. attacks on Iran remain a topic of discussion, the background of the U.S. attack has also emerged. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), based on information from two officials familiar with the matter, Trump's Special Representative Steve Witkoff stated that "Iran is stalling the White House," while Israeli officials said that air superiority made the U.S. operation less risky.
TRUMP REVIEWED THE ATTACK PLAN
Officials claimed that Trump, who believes that Iran's development of nuclear weapons cannot be prevented solely through diplomatic means, approved an operation targeting Iran's nuclear facilities.
Officials reported that prior to the attack, Trump and his team were in regular contact with Israeli officials, and Trump repeatedly asked his advisors to clearly state if there was anything that could go wrong with the attack. They stated that Trump's aides secretly gathered in the Situation Room at the White House on June 21 to review the attack plan.
THIS IS HOW THEY MISLED IRAN
Officials, who stated that another group of B-2 bombers took off from the U.S. to mislead Iranian officials, expressed that "Iran was caught off guard" due to the timing of the attack.
ATTACKS SPARKED DEBATES IN THE U.S.
Senator Lindsey Graham stated in an interview with WSJ yesterday that Trump, who believes Iran is "playing games," was told that the damage to the country's image caused by the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan during former President Joe Biden's term could be reset.
Graham said he told Trump, "You will be the new sheriff of the town, this (move) will reset our relations with the rest of the world. Israel did a great job, but we should also have a footprint in this."
On the other hand, some Democrats stated that Trump should seek war authorization from Congress before approving military action, expressing that the attacks in question were illegal.
Senator Adam Schiff stated in an interview with CNN yesterday that there was no evidence that Iran had made a decision to produce a nuclear bomb or a mechanism, saying, "As long as this is not the case, such an attack order should not have been given."
THEY ATTACKED 3 NUCLEAR FACILITIES
Trump announced yesterday that they had carried out airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
