The actress Aybüke Pusat was fired from the series "Teşkilat" for supporting the boycott call. Following this situation, calls were made for Pusat's co-star Tolga Sarıtaş to also "leave the series." In response to these comments, Sarıtaş closed the comments on the photos on his social media account.
CHP had initiated a boycott against some brands. Over the weekend, citizens had called on social media to "stop all consumption on April 2." While the boycott quickly became a topic of discussion, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation against those spreading the call. Aybüke Pusat, who plays in the series Teşkilat, also supported the boycott. The actress shared the call on her Instagram account, later deleted it, and as a result, it was requested that she be removed from the series.
AYBÜKE PUSAT REMOVED FROM THE SERIES
TRT General Manager Zahid Sobacı described the boycott in a statement on X as "a call made by a political group for political purposes" and stated that "being used for this purpose is clearly contrary to TRT's principles, the understanding of public broadcasting, and professional integrity."
The statement continued: "In this context, the shares of an actor who plays in the series Teşkilat broadcasted on TRT1 are completely incompatible with TRT's corporate principles. The person in question has been removed from the series due to shares that disappointed the viewers of the Teşkilat series. Although stock episodes of the series have been filmed, revisions will be made to the series' script. No one should doubt that necessary steps will be taken for similar situations."
MESSAGE FLOOD TO TOLGA SARITAŞ
After Aybüke Pusat was dismissed from the Teşkilat series, messages flooded in for Pusat's co-star Tolga Sarıtaş. Comments such as "Support her," "If necessary, you should leave too," "It's not right to stay silent," and "You must support Aybüke" poured in on all of Sarıtaş's posts.
DISABLED COMMENTS ON HIS POSTS
In response to these comments, Tolga Sarıtaş maintained his silence but made a surprising move. After the flood of comments, Tolga Sarıtaş restricted comments on the photos on his social media account.
