The lifeless body of Kudrat Ahmadi (15), an Afghan national who went missing yesterday in the Akçakale village of Arpaçay district in Kars, was found in the Arpaçay River.

Relatives and villagers, who could not reach Kudret Ahmedi, who went out to graze animals yesterday morning in the Akçakale village of the Arpaçay district, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, AFAD, gendarmerie, and UMKE teams were dispatched to the region. In the search efforts initiated by the teams around 15:00, field scans and drone-assisted searches were conducted in and around the creek bed. The search was paused due to darkness.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO THE INCIDENT

The efforts resumed this morning. At around 10:30, the teams found Ahmedi, a citizen of Afghanistan, lifeless in the Arpaçay Stream. An investigation into the incident has been launched, and it was reported that the exact cause of Ahmedi's death will be clarified following an autopsy.
