Congressman Higgins reported that the body of Trump assassination attempt perpetrator Crooks has "disappeared". He stated that the FBI handed over the body to the family without the knowledge of local authorities. This situation has raised concerns about the incident that Trump barely escaped. Despite the resignation of Secret Service Chief Cheatle, there are unanswered questions. Higgins found the actions of the FBI "disturbing" and emphasized the public's right to know the whole truth. The task force will present the final report in December.
According to Congressman Clay Higgins' report, the body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attempted to assassinate Trump, "disappeared".
Higgins learned that when he wanted to see Crooks' body on August 5th, the FBI had delivered the body to the family to be burned 10 days after the incident on July 13th. Higgins states that local authorities and the forensic expert were not aware of this and that the forensic expert still had legal authority over the body when the FBI made this decision.
This report has raised serious concerns about how the assassination attempt that almost cost Trump's life and resulted in the death of a rally participant took place. Secret Service Chief Kimberly Cheatle was forced to resign on July 23rd, but there are still many unanswered questions.
Higgins says he conducted his own investigation during his visit to Butler from August 4th to 6th. In his report, he questions why the FBI delivered the body to the family without any supervision and states that this could be seen as an obstacle to future investigation efforts.
Higgins describes the FBI's actions as "quite disturbing" and emphasizes that the American people deserve to learn the whole truth about the assassination attempt against Trump.
The task force will release a final report before December 13th and make recommendations to prevent security vulnerabilities.
