The Pakistani government announced that all visas issued to Indian citizens have been suspended following the terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir.

PAKISTAN SUSPENDED VISA PROCESSING FOR INDIAN CITIZENS

According to a report by Dawn newspaper, Pakistan retaliated against India, which suspended visa services for its citizens. During a National Security Council meeting held under the leadership of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif following the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, it was decided to immediately suspend all visas issued to Indian citizens.

"LEAVE THE COUNTRY WITHIN 48 HOURS"

In a statement made after the meeting, Indian citizens currently in Pakistan were asked to leave the country within 48 hours. It was noted that Sikh religious pilgrims would be exempt from the visa application.

PAHALGAM TERROR ATTACK

On April 22, armed individuals opened fire on tourists in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir, which is administered by India, resulting in the deaths of 26 people and many injuries. Following the terrorist attack, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his official visit to Saudi Arabia and returned to New Delhi. Upon his arrival in the capital, he held a security meeting with high-level officials to assess the situation. Indian officials accused those responsible for the attack of having "come from Pakistan."

India suspended the "Indus Waters Treaty," requested that Pakistani diplomats stationed in New Delhi leave the country within a week, and announced that visa services for Pakistani citizens had been suspended, with all previously issued visas being canceled.

On the other hand, Pakistan rejected the accusations, imposed restrictions on the number of Indian diplomatic personnel in Islamabad, declared that interventions in rivers outside the scope of the Indus Waters Treaty would be considered a "cause for war," suspended all trade with India, and closed its airspace. The Islamabad administration also hinted that it might suspend the Simla Agreement, which was signed after the war with India in 1971 and established the Line of Control (LOC) between the parties.
