28-year-old Aziz Çaplık, son of CHP District Chairman Mehmet Çaplık, who went to Europe from Mardin's Derik district for work six years ago, lost his life due to an illness he contracted in Spain. The young man's body, brought back to Turkey through his family's efforts, was laid to rest in his hometown amid tears.

Aziz Çaplık, the son of CHP District Chairman Mehmet Çaplık, who went to Spain from Mardin's Derik district for work 6 years ago, was taken under treatment at Hospital Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona after falling ill on May 19. Diagnosed with a neck tumor, Çaplık passed away on June 11.

As a result of the family's efforts, Çaplık's body, whose procedures were completed, was brought to Turkey by plane in the morning hours. The body, met at Mardin Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Airport, was laid to rest after the funeral prayer at Abdullah Akın Cemetery in Bahçelievler Neighborhood, following procedures at the Derik State Hospital morgue. Çaplık's relatives and the district residents attended the funeral.

Father Mehmet Çaplık said, "Because my son passed away in Spain, friends and relatives have been sharing our pain with us for 10 days. We buried him today. He was the eldest of my 5 children, he was 28 years old. He was still single. He had gone to Germany for work, then moved to Spain. We had his body brought and buried. I extend my thanks and respects to everyone who attended our funeral."
