It was claimed that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States is trying to arm the opposition Kurds in Iran in order to incite a rebellion in the country.
Sources speaking to American CNN television claimed about the CIA's plans in Iran. The sources alleged that the U.S. administration is actively negotiating to provide military support to Iranian opposition groups and representatives of the Iranian Kurdish opposition who have sought refuge in the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKBY).
"THEY PLANNED ACTIONS"
A Kurdish source from Iran stated that some armed groups of Iranian opposition are planning to carry out certain actions in the west of the country, and these individuals are expecting support from the U.S. and Israel.
"BUFFER ZONE" CLAIM
It was also claimed that there were discussions about the possibility of the Kurds in the region establishing a "buffer zone" for Israel by seizing a specific area in Iran.
"THEY ARE ARMING THE KURDS"
Former Pentagon official and CNN national security expert Alex Plitsas suggested that "the U.S. is clearly trying to accelerate the Iranian uprising process by arming the Kurds."
Plitsas stated, "The Iranian people will generally find it difficult to seize power unless they are armed and the security forces collapse."
