Türkiye, Algeria, Indonesia, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Somalia, and Saudi Arabia strongly condemned Israel's airstrikes on a military base in Syria.
In a joint statement issued by foreign ministers, the attacks targeting the Ebu Zuhur Military Air Base in northwestern Syria by Israel were emphasized as "an extremely dangerous escalation."
The statement noted that these actions constitute a clear violation of Syria's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity.
CONDEMNATION FROM 11 COUNTRIES, INCLUDING TURKIYE
The joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of Turkiye and 10 other countries included the following expressions:
"The Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Turkiye, the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Indonesia, the State of Palestine, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Lebanon, Malaysia, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Federal Republic of Somalia, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemn the air strikes by Israel targeting the Ebu Zuhur Military Air Base in northwestern Syria. These attacks constitute an extremely dangerous escalation and a clear violation of Syria's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity.
The Foreign Ministers express deep concern over the continued targeting and destruction of Syrian territory and infrastructure. Such actions risk undermining Syria's ongoing efforts to restore its security, rebuild its national institutions, and address the humanitarian consequences of the years-long conflict.
CALL FOR "CONCRETE STEPS" TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
The Foreign Ministers also underscore that Israel's continued violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity carry the risk of further escalating tensions, destabilizing regional peace and stability, and undermining respect for international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
The Foreign Ministers call on the international community to adopt a resolute, clear, and principled stance against this ongoing aggression against Syria, to take concrete steps in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter, to put an end to these violations, to ensure full compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and to secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they occupy, thereby preventing further escalation and preserving regional peace and stability.
The Foreign Ministers emphasize that Syria's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and political unity must be respected and state that they reject any attempt to undermine this."
